Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO)

With the rapid development of the global market and international trade, it becomes critical for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect itself from counterfeit products that will compromise the safety and health of its people and environment.With the establishment of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), the authority has taken a better control on the quality and safety of products available in the market.

Notified by SASO

In line with the mission of SASO to elevate the standards and quality of products and services available locally, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is strictly monitoring the entry of consumer goods into their ports, ensuring that only products that meet the requirements of local regulations and international standards are allowed into the country.

GulfTIC Certification is now officially a Notified Body of SASO authorized to do conformity assessments and issue Certificates of Conformity for regulated products entering KSA, and other GCC countries.

GulfTIC Certification is also authorized by the government of Saudi Arabia to do evaluation of products and factories applying for the Saudi Quality Mark.

THE SAUDI QUALITY MARK

Saudi Quality Mark is the exclusive property of SASO based on the Registered Trademark registration number 1303/79. This is a mark granted to be used by SASO to products that have demonstrated compliance to Saudi standards, manufactured in a facility that has an effective Management Systemto ensure continuous conformance to requirements.

Apply for Service

  • Application form.
  • Industrial License.
  • Commercial registration of the establishment.
  • Plant Layout.
  • Quality Manual.
  • Organization Chart (organizational structure of the establishment).
  • Establishments address with the sketch.
  • Product Test reports complying with the standards.
  • Catalog of products.
  • Quality Plan (Quality Control Chart).
  • Results of internal monitoring for products during the last three months / results of third party tests, if anyISO 22000 certificate (for food and agricultural establishments only).

Payment of Fees

  • Initial Review of Technical Documents.

Conformity Assessment

Document Review
Technical experts review all the documents submitted in order to assess completeness and compliance of the product with the requirements.

Factory Audit
Auditors visit the factory for initial assessment in order to ensure effective implementation of a Quality Management System and continuous compliance of product with the requirements.

Product Testing
Auditors may collect samples during the audit and subject to internal and/or independent laboratory testing as the need arises.

Corrective Action

Applicant will be notified of any findings that need immediate corrective action.

Issuance of Certificate

The certificate and license have validity period of 3 years.
